Epson Stylus Color 820
Mark: Average I have used an Epson Stylus Color 820 sucessfully with eComStation in the
past. If memory serves me right, I needed to install the Epson Stylus
Color 720 printer driver that ships with eComStation. After that using
the Printer Object that is created(In Printer Properties Notebook), the
Printer Driver Tab..select the 720 printer object..RMB click..
Select Install->New Driver. The "Install New Printer Driver"
window opens. Click "Other eComStation printer driver"..then
in the Director field enter the location of the unpacked
"epomni3e.exe" files. Click the "Refresh" button. You will
then see a list of printers..select "Epson Photo 870".
Continue by clicking "Install".
The printer is very slow, but at least I recall being able to print High
Resolution color photos. I used to be an Epson InkJet printer fan, but
after my Epson Stylus C86 sat for a week or so unused, the Inkjet ports
dryup!! After that I have been unable to get the printer to work..even
with new cartridges..this happened to me also with an Epson 720.
So now I invest in Laser printers..my next one will be a color
Laser with PostScript compatibility and Network interface. Inkjet
printers are cheep..but when you add in the cost of ink..and the
need to frequently replace those cartridges(time ordering or going
to the store)..the expense adds up over the years. So a Laser printer
with PostScript compatibility is the way to go!
