Adaptec AHA 1542C

Mark: Good

ISA Busmastering card;

Q:
I loose performance when using an Adaptec 152x SCSI interfacecard...

A:
"The Adaptec 1542C is an ISA Busmastering card. You are aware that if you are not using a double buffer device driver for that card, it will limit OS/2 to 16MB's or RAM, aren't you?"

YES, that's it. I add the option "/DBUFF" to the AHA1542.ADD and it works.

The JFS use 12.5 % of the memory. The system has 48MB and the JFS cache is 6 MB. With the AHA1542 loaded the system use only 16MB, the rest will used as swap space. The result is, that eCS is running with 10MB memory and that is not enough.
